Libby Gopal

Libby Gopal graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Music Education, her masters in music education from Westminster Choir College of Rider University and a masters in school administration from Rowan University.

As an educator, Mrs. Gopal has been a high school choir director since 2002. In 2007 she was chosen by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Outreach Program to become one of the master teachers in the NJSO Master Teacher Collaborative Program, where she designed lesson plans to work concurrently with their 2008-2009 Educational Concert Series. Gopal has been a New Brunswick Education Foundation (NBEF) mini grant recipient and two time recipient of the American Choral Directors Association Fund For Tomorrow Grant.

Mrs. Gopal’s students have performed with NJSMA Region 1 Choir, NJ All State, the NJMEA Conference in Atlantic City and in such renowned stages like the Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall. In 2019, Mrs. Gopal was named East Orange Campus High School Teacher of The Year. She is currently a district trainer through the East Orange School District Teacher Leaders Workshop Series, NJ-ACDA Inclusivity Chair, NJSMA Treble Choir Manager, NJ All-State Choral Procedures committee member and serves as a clinician for NJMEA and NJACDA.
